(From Our Own Correspondent). BUSINESS MEN’S ASSOCIATION. The Business Men’s met on Friday evening at Mr Kennedy’s rooms. Thursday, March 25tli, Show at Winchester—close at 11 o cloc *- Easter Holiday—close lrom ’lnuisday night until Tuesday morning. Mr M. C. Williams brought lorward the matter of the Junior High School system. ■ , A general discussion resulted, and ;; was decided to support the school committee in their endeavour to have a Junior High School established in Geraldine. The matter of placing a fire-reel at the north end of tho borough, and other matters in connection with the iire-fighting appliances, were discussed. Mr Henry and Mr C. W. McKenzie were appointed to attend a meeting which had been arranged between the Borough Council and the Fire Brigade. Mr G. A. M. Macdonald suggested that the borough should amend the by-law and have stricter supervision over the design of building erected in the borough.
Mr K. McKonzio supported this view, and stated that he was present at the fire under discussion, and was satisfied the Brigade had saved the adjoining buildings. Under the circumstances they had done very well.
