ST. SAVIOUR’S ORPHANAGE FOR GIRLS.
To tho Editor of the “Timaru Herald.” Sir. —On tho eve of our departure from Timaru, we want to express cur grateful appreciation and thanks to the clergy and the el lurch people of St. Aiaiy’s, St. John’s, St. Peter's* All Saints, St. Alicliael’s, and also lo Airs Palmer-Chapman, Salisbury, for the splendid picnics and treats they have given our children. They have had a most'delightful time, winch will be remembered by them all their lives. It has not only been a holiday, but an education; and though our family numbers more than a hundred, we have not had a day’s sickness since we arrived, which shows what a great benefit tho change has been to them. Wo also wish to thank tho Mayor for his great kindness in allowing us the use of- the hall on the Bay, and tho bathing sheds; the members of the South Canterbury Automobile Association, anti other kind friends, who have placod their cars at onr dispell, and who have sent us gifts in money and in kind. ’This holiday has been the greatest event in the lives of most of our girls, and thoy are going home, hoping tliat at some future dato they may again visit the healthy and beautiful town of Timaru by tho sea. —I am, etc., 'THE SISTER IN CHARGE. Morgan’s Road, January 25, 1920.
