Baldwins Limited, whose capital is £5,500,000, report a loss of £98.422 for tho past year. It has applied £550,000 front reserves to writing down investments.
The Arawa sailed for New Zealand with 340 immigrants. The Ruahine next week will take 250, thereby completing 9GOO for the year. A further 5000 are embarking in the next three months.
Dr Stresemann, addressing a People’s Party demonstration, said: “Soon we shall regain our sovereignity owing to evacuation, following the Locarno Treaty—soon we shall be a member of the League of Nations. Then our claim to Colonial mandates can no longer stand rejected.”
