BOWLING CLUB. A general meeting of the Bowling Club was held at the pavilion on Tuesday evening. Messrs J. W. Miller and A. A. Readdff were elected members of tbe club. Dr. Paterson, president, referred to the remarks their delegate on tlm Centre (Mr Shillito) had made in regard to the selection of the South Canterbury representative team, when he pointed out that the club had been completely ignored by the selectors, in face of the fact that two of tho club members had won the championship doubles at the tournament last season. He moved that Mr Shillito be written to thanking him for taking the 6tand ■he had. • Mr M. G. Williams seconded tho motion, saying that it seemed ridiculous that the winners of last year’s doubles should not be deemed worthy of even a thirty-second place this year in a South Canterbury team. The motion was carried unanimously. PRESENTATION. Dr. Paterson, on behalf of the club, presented Mr W. W. Williamson with a handsome leather bowl bag, as a small token of their appreciation of his | having lor many years placed his rooms at the disposal of the Club for meetings. j J Mr Williamson said ho had been ■ quite taken by surprise. He had not ' expected anything of the kind, and the club woo always welcome to the use of his rooms. i
