The “Daily News” stated that General Bruce is experiencing difficulty in obtaining feLcilitiea for a fresh attempt to climb Mount Everest, firstly, because the Chinese missionaries are fomenting anti-British feeling in Thibet, and secondly, owing .to.the mysterious death of the Commander-in-Chief of the /Thibetan Army, the' only pro-British : official, in the country, who previously aided General Bruce.

The crews, who were heavily masked, assert that the gas penetrated every part of the vessel.
