CHINESE SEAMAN FINED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 22. Customs officers found a quantity of opium qn the steamer Hermes, and as a consequence, Yong Ah Wong, the ship’s boatswain, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with importing opium in a form suitable for smoking. Wong admitted ownership, but explained that ho kept opium for sailors who came to him when they were ill.
