SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE AT INQUIRY.

At the inquiry into the Gympio railway smash,- Mr McGinley, representative of the Australian Railwaymen s Union said lie would call evidenco m support of the belief that the accident was not caused by an obstruction, but by a depression or hole on the outside rail of the curve. He intended to call evidence to show that the curve was irrcmlar. It was wavy, and showed other variations from true form as to make it unsafe to run over. He contended that tho curve had not been properly laid. A railway tettler gave evidence that ho discovered a hole in tho curve on the afternoon of July 8, but as it was close to knocking-off time, he put ott remedying tho effect till another time.
