A message from Swampscott (Mass.; states that Senator Hale (chairman or the Senate Naval Committee) informed President Coolidge to-day, that he believed immediate steps should bo taken to establish a strong naval base on the Pacific Coast, and strengthen Pearl Harbour for Hawaiian defence.
