MOTOR DRIVER. SUSPENDED.
IICENSE .WITHDRAWN FOR MONTH.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 21
“ I always regard these cases as very serious, because our traffic is almost entirely motor, fast-moving, and dangerous if not properly regulated. A drunken man in a vehicle neither gives nor rewards signals, and his presence too often leads to accidents. This case has .some peculiar features, and make it difficult to know what to do,” said Mr Wyvcru AVilson, S.M., in suspending the license of Denis Benjamin O’Callagluin, carrier, for one month, and fining him £5 for being drunk while 'in charge of a motor-lorry. Tho unusual features referred to were that O’Callaghnn is the father of ton children, ranging in age from 12 months to 20 years. He is usuady abstemious and of good repute, and the major part of his income is derived from carrying work done for a local firm.
