McCONACHY WINS.

. WELLINGTON, July 20. The billiards m/atch, 18,000 up, was won by McConachy by 414 points. Both he and Falkiner were in good form on Saturday afternoon, when tho best breaks were: —McConachy 131, 249, and 146; Falkiner 291 and 341. Tho totals ,at the end of tho session were : —McConachy, 17,267; Falkiner, 16,789.

There was a large attendance at the final session, which yielded interesting play, though both men seemed to find difficulties at times. Falkiner made the best break—4s3 —and passed McConachy at 17,305, but was unable to maintain his lead. The New Zealander pulled up the leeway, and ran out when Falkiner was 17.586. McConacliy’s best breaks were 295, 289, and 106 (unfinished), and Falkiner’s 133, 453, and 107.

McCONACHY TO PLAY IN TIMARU

Mr P. H. McConachy, of the Arcade billiard room, yesterday received a telegram from his son, Clark McConachy, the New Zealand professional champion, stating that the latter will arrive in Timaru on Thursday, accompanied by Tom Tothill, tho North of England champion, who marked the big game in Wellington last week. McConachy and Tothill will play an exhibition game of 1500 up during their stay.
