Tho past week in grain and seed circles has been dull and lifeless, the business, done being negligible. , Potatoes are a iittlo firmer, this being no doubt due io growers not being able to do any digging owing to the recent wet weather. Potatoes are now worth £3 10s to £3 15s to farmers on trucks. A lew more inquiries lately have been coining to hand from Auckland, and it is probable that ’a considerable quantity will be sent away by the Kuiwarra next week. By the Karetu, a quantity of potatoes are to bo sent to Sydney-next week on. consignment. ' In oats, Gartons aro firm, A grade having been sold at 4s 6d for June delivery, and B grade at 4s 2)d f.0.b., s.i. There has been some inquiry during the week for oats, and somoi forward selling lias taken place at as low a figure as 4s 3d f ; o.b., but thoy cannot bo purchased Irom farmers at as low a price as this. Cocksfoot is firm, and there has been some sold at 10-Jd per lb. for speculation, involving a shipment to Melbourne. The position regarding white clover and ryegrass remains unchanged. There is a better inquiry for linseed, and sales have been made equal to £l7 5s on -trucks. Tho fowl wheat market has declined a shade owing to recent quotations from Australia.
