Applications aro invited for debentures, which will be issued at p,:u- in denominations of £IOO, £SOO, and £IOOO. Payment c! interest at tho rate of 5J- per cent, is made on tho 31st March and doth September each year. Interest is paid in full without deduction of any description, and is calculated from tho date of receipt of application money. This loan is issued under tho aufcbor- ! ity of the Local Bodies Loans Act. 1913, and the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907, security being offered hv a special rate of i<l in the £1 on the capital value of an area valued at £6,500,000. The period of tho loan terminates in 1973, but the Board retains the right of redemption of tho whole or any portion, after 1938. These debentures will always bo readily negotiable.
