THE ESTIMATES. ! | The following statement of estimated revenue ,and expenditure for the year 1925 was presented at the last meeting of the Timaru Harbour Board: — llevenue.—Credit balance on Ist January, 4925, £800; warfage, £12,000; ships’ dues, £17,000; water, £350; harbour improvement rate, £3,300; superannuation contributions, £500; housing account (rentals), £376; rents, £2,492; Hayes and Fraser Street sidings (rentals), £327; slipways Nos. 1 and 2 (shipping fees), £65; sundry receipts, £150; harbour rate, £9,951; total, £47,311. Expenditure.— Dredging, docking, etc., “No. 350” £11,700, new buckets, spur, wheel and clutch £800; dredge “Taniwha,” £480; repairs and maintenance to Nos. 1,2, and 3 wharves, £350; No. 1. wharf renewals, £1150; part cost re-arranging and extending Board’s railway sidings, £1500; working electric capstans, £280; Hayes and Fraser Street sidings, £350; Hayes and Fr,aser Street sidings (repairs), £100; Eastern Extension (repairs), £470; tramline, cranes, etc., £120; contingencies, £400; Harbour Master’s department, £3,500; water, £350; salaries, £1,300; general expenses, £650; cost of harbour improvement scheme, £200; Hayes and Fraser Street sidings (working agreement), £381; commission, account collecting wharfage dues, £300; superannuation contributions, £1,100; accident insurance (premiums), £180; housing account, £550; rent of quarry, etc., £170; slipways Nos. 1 and 2, £100; “Public Revenues Act, 1910,” £100; sundries, £200; sinking fund, £3,329; interest on loans, £16,645; total, £46,755; balance, £556.
