In the House of Cofnmcms the Gold Standard Bill was read a third time without discussion.
In reply to questions, Mr Church--111 said that legislative sanction Would be given to the new Imperial preference proposals in the Finanfco Bill this year. Asked whether tho Bill was drafted so that the opponents of preference could make amendmeuts, Mr Churchill replied that he could not anticipate the publication of the text of the Bill.
Lieutenant-Colonel Heneage (Conservative M.P. for Louth), suggested a mutual airangement with the Dominions by which men and women could receive old age pensions, who gt present were debarred because of having spent somt of the qualifying period in tin- Dominions. Mr Churchill said ho would take a note of the suggestion, which would require legislation.
