INJURED ON FOOTBALL FIELD ■ i
Mr C. Chamberlain, who fell heavily on his light shoulder when tackling an opponent during the progress oi the i\ orthern-Soutliern game' on Thursday, was conveyed to the- public hospital. It is understood that the shoulder is dislocated and the sinews badly torn. He will be laid up for several weeks. ' THE MYSTEIIIOUS STRANGER. i The - rumours that the young man who called at a Waimate residence on Friday or last week, might be Hudson, has turned out to be nothing more than mere hearsay, it was derimtely learnt yesterday that the person who called at the house in question was a young .man whp has little resemblance to tne missing Hudson and.-who had been' potato digging in the country. His alleged shaity condition was *due more to a night' out than anything else. I / . .. SCOTTISH SOCIETY RESUSCITATED. At an enthusiastic meeting of Waimate Scotsmen it was unanimously decided to revive the Waimate Scottish Society and'the following officers were .elected :—Chief, .Mr Thomas Mackenzie; . president, Mr W. G. Paul; vice-presidents, Messrs A. R. 'Cooper and-F.- Pollock; secretary, Mr J., A. Neely;- treasurer, Mr /J. .McKenzie. A strong committee was also formed.
