Mr C. Chamberlain, who fell heavily on his light shoulder when tackling an opponent during the progress oi the i\ orthern-Soutliern game' on Thursday, was conveyed to the- public hospital. It is understood that the shoulder is dislocated and the sinews badly torn. He will be laid up for several weeks. At an enthusiastic meeting of Waimate Scotsmen it was unanimously decided to revive the Waimate Scottish Society and'the following officers were .elected :—Chief, .Mr Thomas Mackenzie; . president, Mr W. G. Paul; vice-presidents, Messrs A. R. 'Cooper and-F.- Pollock; secretary, Mr J., A. Neely;- treasurer, Mr /J. .McKenzie. A strong committee was also formed.
