WEDDING.
GLASSEY—ANNETT. i A wedding of considerable interest to St. Andrews took place at the Presbytenan Churcii, St. Andrews, on April 7, when Gertrude, eldest daughter of Air and Mrs Yvm. Annext o. ““itidgemont,” St. Andrews was umteu in holy, matrimony, to Joseph Alexander Giassey of Ruapuna. Inc church ’was beautifulJy decorated witu white flowers and greenery by the friends of the bride. The Rev. A. AlcNeur officiated. Mr Axel Newton, of Timaru, presided at the organ.' lhe bride who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a simple frock of white brocaded satin, the bodice being draped slightly to one side, and caught with a, silver buckle and streamers of pearls. The sleeves worn to the wrist were of white georgette. A beautifully embroidered veil caught into a silver head-band with clusters of orange blossom on either side, and a shower bouquet of white roses, daisies and fern completed the charming toilet. The bride was attended-by her sister Jean, who wore a frock of apricot crepe de chene, apricot shoes and stockings to match. She wore a wreath of apricot and lavender flowers with silver leaves, and long streamers of • narrow ribbon from the side. Her bouquet was of lavender and pale pink flowers with asparagus fern and streamers of lavender ribbon. Little Thelma Cooper ' (neice of bride) was flower girl, wearing a dainty little frock of white • georgette over -silk. Owing to the restrictions the other little flower girl Patty Giassey (neice of the bridegroom) was unable to attend, her place being filled by the bride’s little brother, David, who wore a cream suit, white shoes and socks, and :carried a crook 1 tied with a large bow and streamers of pale blue ribbon. Air Andrew Giassey ;ivas best man. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a string of pearls, to™the bridesmaid a gold armlet, and eaeh little flower girl received a gold bracelet. After the ceremony a reception was held at Air and Mrs Annett’s resi“Ridgihont.” Mrs Annett received her guests wearing a black mousseline frock caught at the side with a cluster of flowers,- a black fiat relieved with gold. . She carried a bouquet of autumn tinted leaves and flowers, with streamers of gold ribbon. ' The breakfast, which was attended by 150 guests, was hey. ir, the spacious tranary which was decorated by owers, greenery and streamers of the bridgesmaid's colours. After the usual Coasts had been .honoured a song was rendered by Mrs H. S. Palmer. Later in the day, Mr and Airs A. Giassey-left for the South, the bride wearing a smartly braided navy costume, and small blue velour hat trimmed with small red and gold flowers.
