WELLINGTON, April 28. - The general revaluation or soldiers’ farms .by thA Dominion Revaluation Board is practically, completed, states the .Minis,ter ,of Lands (Hon. A. D. McLeod). There are still a number ot appeals and difficult cases occupying the attention of tlio Board, and entailing.personal inspections in different localities, but itVwas. hoped that the final figures would be available for submission to Pafliahierit sdOii aftet it assembled. All the District Committees had completed their labours in field and office. The Dominion Board had issued determinations in 5262 cases, which equalled 98J per cent, of the applications received. The general figures were as follows; Applications for revaluation 5347, determined 5262, still to be determined 85. Reductions in capital value of leaseholds amounted to £15,577,583, and reductions on mortgages under Section 2 of the Act to £653,61.0; total £2.226,193. The Board had negotiated with private mortgagees and Unsecured creditors for. the purpose of having debts discharged or reduced. The total amount owing by soldiers affected amounted to £119,239, and as a result of the Board’s negotiations reductions in these debts amounting to £84,395 had been secured. In addition, the Dominion Board had completed negotiations for the purchase of private mortgages totalling £35,916. which had been purchased at a discount of £15,228.
