EASTER MATCHES TO-DAY. The football season in Timaru will be opened tins altenioon, wlieu tnree senior games and a fourth-grade match will bo played between jumaru clubs and visiting teams. _ • At the -vtlueuc Grounds Star will meet Fairlie at 1.45 p.m., and Zmgari will play their annual fixture witn Lmwood (Christchurch) at 3 o’clock. Both games should be full of interest. At the Caledonian Ground, alter a curtain-raiser between Star and Old Boys fourth-graders, Timaru Old Boys will try conclusions with Christchurch Old Boys, holders of the Payne Trophy. More than usual importance is attached to this locally, as the home i team will be trying out several new men in place of players who have left j the district. The -visitors, like Linwood, should be in good fettle, as the Christchurch competitions open iiext_ week, and the home side have been in training for some time and are very forward for such an early stage of the season, and the game should b e very attractive. Several members of the Christchurch teams arrived yesterday,' and the remainder will reach Timaru this morning The following will represent Stax seniors v.
