One result of the cyclonic market has been to increase Mr Rockfeller’s fortune, to 110,000,000d01, his holdings in nine Standard Oil'units having increased by over 9 8 millions In market value, while the dividends therefrom will at a minimum be 13,000,000 dollars.
Trading continued at high pressure to-day, rails leading the renewed advance. Three new records were made yesterday. : The sales exceeded anything in the history of the Stock Exchange.
The number of issues traded in was the greatest, and average for representative industrial and railroad stocks was the highest.
It is now ■ frankly admitted that values are above those warranted by their earnings. The putn-v is rushing into a . market which is highly speculative, but there are no signs yet of an inevitable reaction.
