Mr Walter Baxter, arrived here- yesterday morning from Christchurch. A large number of ministers who hare been attending tho geueraly assembly, which concluded its sitting at Palmerston North on Wednesday, returned south vesterdav.
A cable massage from Hollywood (California) records that 'lliomas hire (world-famed cinema producer) died suddenly of heart failure. He was a pioneer and leader in the film industry.
Mr D. S. McKillop, headmaster of Wanton School, who has been staying in Tnmiru for the last three months returned south by yesterday’s express. Mr McKillop who is on sick-leave, has benefited much by his holiday m maru.
A I'ress Association message from London says that S.r Robert Horne, ex-Cliuncellor of the Exchequer is making a three months’ trip to India, Burma, and Ceylon, as chairman of the National Smelting Company. It lias been suggested that they should extend Ins trip to Australia, New Zealand and Canada for the development of imperial trade.
