CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 17. J The appeals lodged by F. D. Jones and M. McCarten with the New Zealand Racing Conference against the decision of the Australian Jockey' Club; 1 in dismissing their appeals against disqualification for twelve months from 9th August last, imposed upon them by the stipendiary steward's acting for the Canterbury' Park Racing Club, will be heard in due course.. In the meantime the Racing Conference is awaiting receipt of information from the Australian Jockey Club in connection with the disqualifications. SOUTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the S.C.J.C. was held yesterday. Present —Messrs H. Lowry (in the chair), R. H. Bissett, T. R. Mackay, E. D. McGovern, and H. Hay. The chairman reported that the secretary was indisposed, and it was decided that a letter lie sent to Mr I'Tascr expressing regret at his illness, and wishing him a speedy recovery. Air Lowry said Unit four new turnstiles were procurable troin Christchurch.—lt was decided that two turnstiles should be erected at each entrance to the lawn—one to admit holders of members’ and complimentary tickets, and the other for persons pavjn,r for cash admission. The turnstiles will be housed in a suitable structure to provide shelter from rain. A pass-out gate will be provided at each entrance, but no passes will be issued until after the running of the first race. ~ . ]t was resolved that the nomination ices for the horses Cerberus and Escarpment be remitted. The following were appointed to, act as judicial committee for the spring meeting Messrs H. Lowry, A. S. El- , worthy, J. Scott, F. D. McGovern and H. H. Fisher.
