TIMARU, 4tli November, 1924. Aaams, Ltd., TIMARU. Dear Sirs, In 1912 I purchased a T.T. B.S.A. from your firm and at that time my hobby was burning up the roads with my back up and head down. I was never passed on the 8.5. A., and in the 1913 hill-climbing contests I won the private owner’s class on formula, also making fastest time in the same class. The fastest time of the. day in the Open Class was won by a 9St rider in 2secs. faster than my time, but this performance by a machine of the'same size as mine was not to be compared, as.my weight at the time was 16st. The machine is still going strong, and it will be practically impossible to estimate how far it has travelled. Yours faithfully, (Sgd.) G. S. Messrs Adams, Ltd. TIMARU. v Dear Sirs, Four years ago I purchased from you a countershaft B.S.A. Motor Cycle and I would like to say that it has given me the utmost satisfaction. a Except for new piston rings, my motor cycle replacements have been nil. I might add that a fair proportion of my work necessitates the use of a side-car, and judging by the way the machine performs, too much cauuot be said about ' the reliability of the B.S.A. Yours faithfully, (Sgd.) G. RUSH. Electrical Engineer, TIMARU. MACKENZIE COUNTRY, 26th October, 1924. Messrs Adams, Ltd., TIMARU. Dear Sirs, I have been riding a 45 h.p. B.S.A. Motor Cycle for the past 12 months, and I find it most satisfactory under all conditions. It is, very economical, never seems to want repairing, and does an enormous mileage on a gallon of petrol. Up here in the Mackenzie Country it is necessary to have something very reliable, and I consider the B.S.A. an ideal machine for the man who lives 100 miles from nowhere. Yours faithfully, (Sgd.) J. J. PERRY, C.o. Hope Bros., Whales Back Station, Mackenzie Country. TIMARU, November 4th, 1924. Messrs Adams, Ltd., Dear Sirs, Since purchasing my 22 B.S.A. Motor Cycle from you 12 months ago, I have travelled 7,000 miles in all weathers, and have no hesitation in saying that it is mechanically perfect. I have ridden several makes of machines, and have yet to find the little B.S.A.’s equal for my class of work. I would call it “the economical machine,” being very easy on petrol, oil and repairs, ancl my original tyres are still quite good. Yours faithfully, W. LONG. Laud Agent, TIMARU. H mi MI ■ -fi- jstM • N.Z. Agents for B.S.A. Motor Cycles BJr mWm laa Ik. O ■ Stafford street - tiwaru Messrs Adams, Ltd., TIMARU. 2nd November, 1924. TIMARU. Dear Sirs. I should like to bring before your notice what I consider a remarkable performance of the B.S.A. Motor Cycle I purchased from you some years ago. 1 I have driven this machine for seven years, doing a total mileage of 13,700 miles (this is not approximate as I had a speedometer fitted when I took delivery). I could not imagine any machine doing the work more economically than a 8.5. A., for the front tyre has never been off the machine - not even punctured. I had driven 13.000 miles before I spent 6d on mechanical repairs, and it was at, this stage that I had a new piston fitted, valves ground, and a few small adjustments, which made the machine as good as new again. I consider the B.S.A. is the machine for the man who lives in the country, and is likely to give it hard, gruelling work. Yours faithfully, (Sgd.) CI-lAS. HASSELL, TIMARU. Wai-iti Road, TIMARU. Ist November, 1924. The Manager, Messrs Adams, Ltd., TIMARU. Dear Sirs, In 1914, if you remember, I bought the first Model “K” B.S.A. and side-car which your firm landed at Timaru. and I have driven this machine continually ever since. It has travelled over 80,000 miles, 76,000 of which show on the speedometer, which is now broken. I may say that, to my mind, there is no other machine made that can stand up to the work of the 8.5. A., either for reliability, hill-climbing, smooth-running and economy, ancl best of all, hard gruelling work. During all my journeys. I never had engine trouble of any kind, with the exception of one broken valve. This machine is still running strong, and is likely to. for many years to come. Yours faithfully, J. PALLISER, Builder, TIMARU. TIMARU, 29th October, 1924. Adams. Ltd., TIMARU. Bear Sir. I have now driven my B.S.A. Motor Cycle 40.000 miles, the gTeater part being done with side-car attached. During that time I have only had a new cylinder, piston, and exhaust valve lifter fitted. My weight is list., and I have had as much as 4 2st. on the outfit. You will therefore see that the work my B.S.A. has to do is no “bed of roses.” Yours faithfully, (Sgd. GEORGE BURRELL. Storeman, TIMARU.
