TECHNICAL SCHOOL

■ MEETING OF MANAGERS. . • The monthly meeting of the Board of Alanagers was held last night, when there were present. —Messrs G. J. Sealey (chairman), J. G. Gow, G. D. Selbie, J. Gliddon, A. Stead, and J. Scott. Air Gow moved that a vote of sympathy be extended to Aliss H. Co 11 per by reason of the death of lier father. Air Sealey seconded, and the resolution was carried in silence. Arr Sealey referred to the installation of the electric stove, and other alterations in the cookery room, and member-, expressed the opinion that the cookery room was now excellently equipped, and that the stove was very efficient and had done good work. Several members referred to tlio recent exhibition of pupils’ work in Ballautvnc’s window, agreeing that it was a splendid display and very ereditabb' to the college. Air Stead moved that the director and staff be congratulated on the creditable display made. Mr Sealey seconded, anil the resolution was carried unanimously. Accounts amounting to £l4B 9s 9cl wore passed ‘for payment. Air Gow reported that he had visited the Day School on Friday. Referring to each class visited he said that verv good work was being done, and pupils were attentive; he also expressed satisfaction with the rearrangement m the cookery room. , , The Board decided that the .Shacklock range, which had been taken out to make°room for the two gas stoves, and which was in splendid condition, should be advertised for sale. Hie director proposed that prizes should be presented to pupils this year, but suggested that they be given not only for highest marks obtained, but that an equal number be presented to pupils who have made the greatest progress, irrespective of total marks earn-
