WEDDINGS.

NORTTICOTE-HOPE. A verv pretty wedding took .place yesterday afternoon, at St. Alary’s Church, when Aliss Vera Hope, youngest daughter of Air and Airs Arthur Hope, "Tumanako,” was married by the very Rev. Doan Walter Tlaipei, Christchurch (great uncle of the bride), assisted bv the Rev. G. A 7. Gerard, oi St. John’s, to Air T. F. Nortbcote, son of Alajor Nortbcote, “Uighfield, Waiau, North Canterbury. _ The service was choral, Air A. \A . A . A ino presiding ut- the orgnn. ilic ctiuich luul been beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride, ihe altar with arum lilies, and tho cancel with spring dowers, shrubs, and asparagus fern. . , The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a lovely.- dress of ivory chiffon velvet, draped at one side and caught with a crystal buckle, front which hung a crystal tassel. Her court tram was ol o-eorgetto embroidered with silver thread, and was lined with picot-edged georgette trills, with long crystal tassels hanging front each shoulder. Her tulle veil, which was worn over her face had been previously wont by her mother, and was held in place with a wreaih. of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white Bowers. The two little bridesmaids, Alisses Josephine'Elwortliy and Ailsa AlcLean. were dressed alike in cream georgette frocks, with georgette bands round their hair, tied with long streamers and a bunch of primroses hanging from one side. They carried posies of primroses, with tulle frills and tied with primrose coloured ribbons. Their amber necklaces were tho gilt of. the. bridegroom. Air Gilbert Grigg, of Longbeach, was best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at ’‘Tumanako,” afternoon tea being served in a large inaiqueo, decorated with greenery and flax. Hie- tables were most artistically ai ranged, with bowls of primroses and pale yellow narcissi. Airs Hope received her guests wearing a handsome lrock of black moire, black and silver hat, and carried a bouquet of red jnpomca.
