By Telegraph—Press Association, 'WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. “I cannot understand why increased prices for wool should have been secured at the wool sales to-day, unless it be that nations want supplies of uniforms for the next war,” said Mr L. L. Grhnwade, an English visitor, at a public meeting held in Wellington on Tuesday, in support of the League ol Nations.

Proposals involving the arrangement of free, fixed and .matured depositors and bondholders’ capital, aggregating approximately £1,51)0,000, to be secured by a floating charge -over certain of the association’s assets and undertakings, were the subject of a meeting of depositors and bondholders of the Now Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association of Canterbury to-day. Mr J. A. Pannett (chairman of directors) presided over an attendance of about 300. The bondholders and depositors were asked by the directors to transfer their holdings into ‘ secured stock,” the security being a charge over the chargeable assets (£2,149,00b) and freehold and leasehold properties and uncalled capital, aggregating £786,654. The resolution embodying the propostils was carried by au overwliGiin.ing majority, only fourteen votes being recorded against it. The resolution, before being given effect to, is subject to the ratification of the Court. The amount of capital represented in the vote was £332,143, of which 96.80 per cent, was in favour of U'o proposal, and 3.20 por cent, against. Other qualities 196 sto 198 s per cwt. (Is 9d to Is 9£d per lb). Cheose. —New Zealand stocks are small and prices have advanced quickly. 110 s per cwt. has been made to-day. Official quotations are :—New Zealand finest coloured 102 s to 103 s per cwt. lid to llld per lb), white 100 s to 106 s per cwt. (10Jd to lljd per lb). Cason.—Little business is being done. French rennet quotations nominal; £7O to £BB per ton Honey.—Market much stronger ; 65s to 77s 6d per cwt; exceptional 80s, light amber 52s 6d to 655, medium 40s to 52s 6d; white offered at 62s to 645. Fruit. —Apples.—Supplies have fallen off during last- two weeks therefore prices are harder. Newton pippin apples 10s 6d to 13s 6d per case; Jonathan apples 9s to 11s per case; C. grade 7s per ease ; Cox’s Orange apples 16s to 18s per case. Eggs.—Trade steady. New Zealand 21s to 23s per long 100; exceptional 24s per long 100. LONDON TALLOW MARKET. Dnlgetv and'Co., Ltd., Timaru; have received the following cable advico from their London office, dated November 21 :—Tallow —Offered 1710 casks, sold 1080 casks. Prime mutton Is to Is 6d higher; beef unchanged; other descriptions unchanged to 6d higher.
