At Litiigow the roof of a bus laden with passengers was blown aoross the road. The Protestant Hall at Pioton was blown into the street. The railway station at Fish River was blowp across the line. Griffiths reports the gale unroofed and damaged hundreds of buildings in the distriot and caused great havoc in orchards. Many fruit trees were uprooted. The damage is estimated at £20,000. ' Great destruction amongst timber and fences is reported on all hands. At Brailwood a boy named Gowan was fatally struck by a parapet falling into the street. FLOODS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Following the gale and heavy rain the Torrens overflowed, isolating the western suburbs and causing suspension of train and train services. Large areas are flooded, and the waters invaded many bouses, causing much damage. The residents spent an anxious night, sleeping on tables and utilising other makeshifts to escape the water. Boats were employed in some districts to supply those isolated with provisions. Reports from the oountry state that there are a, number of washouts on the railways and considerable damage was done. It will probably be some days before telegraphic communication is fully normal.
