RESTLESS INDIA.

ECHO OF KENYA DECISION.

ACTIVITIES OF REV OLUTXONARY

SOCIETY,

By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. DELHI, September 18.

The Nationalist Congress Executive carried by 23 votes to 9, a resolution declaring the Kenya decision proved that India could not honourably remain a member of the British Empire just now, and should seriously consider the advisability of working for, 1 , a Swaraj independent of British connection. A proposal suggesting retaliation by the severance of commercial relations with the Dominions and Colonies and flic boycott of tho exhibition was rejected, speakers stating- that,. the original resolution was sufficiently

comprehensive. A Calcutta message states that the existence of a revolutionary society, whose object is to drive out the English from India, was alleged to-day in a case known as the “Alipore Conspiracy Case,” in which eight young' men, including five students, were charged with dacoity and murder. The prosecution asserted that they had planned to build up a. fund with' the object of achieving their purpose, and committed dacoities in order to secure money, which members were not permitted to use for their own benefit. The prosecution stated that the arrests were made in consequence of a statement made by a man sentenced to death in connection with the murder of Mr Branch, postmaster, in Calcutta on August 3, wherein he alleged that members took an oath to disregard family ties, to take life and sacrifice their own if necessary. Particulars were given of five armed dn-oities, alleged to have been committed in the Calcutta district by the accused between May and August, including three attended by murder. One accused, who was tendered pardon. gave evidence identifying the remainder and substantiating tho allegations of the prosecution.
