S.C. HUNT.
MEET AT GLENITI. In fine hunting weather the Hunt assembled on Saturday last at Gleniti, and soon after II a.m. moved down the Claremont road, first throwing oif in Mr Boath’s paddocks. After crossing the stubble to the turnips ,and hounds failing to draw, beyond a hare chopped in the root crop, the paddocks were vacated and a move made to the Fair-view-Ciaremont cross road. Entering the paddocks north of Mr Wright’s homestead a hare was got going, but she was loth to leave the vicinity of the turnip crops, where hunting was of necessity much restricted. Eventually, after two or . three circles, puss was hunted out, and, breaking away, turned into the main Claremont road, which she traversed about half a mile before turning right into Mr Cameron’s property, making a fast run across to Mr Blamires’s to Mr • Mattingloy’s boundary, whore she got clear, a straggling field bringing up at the junction of the Gleniti and Hacllow roads. A halt was made here for re-assembly and icfiesliments. . On resuming, hounds were taken down the Hadlow road and thrown off in Mr J. McKcowu’s grazing paddocks. Although the gullies wore thoroughly triocl out thoy were drawn blank, and returning to the road a transfer was made into Mr T. Rhodes’s, where hounds at once gave tongue, a hare doubling back into the lake plantation on Mr McKeown’s. Hustled out from the trees, she followed the Hadlow road for about two miles, with the. pack in hot pursuit, before turning right and taking to the aleci> faces on the Hadlow propertv. Making a wide circle over boulder-strewn gullies and crossing a portion of Hie new soldier settlement, she again reached her starting point, and once more sought shelter in the lake plantation, where-she was allowed her liberty. , , , , As the hour was late hounds were packed and a return made to Glomti, where, at their residence, Mr and Mrs Bernard Tripp entertained the Hunt and numerous visitors and Iriondo to uiueli-appreeiated alLernoon Lea.
