PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby _ given pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Rating Act, 1908, that the Geraldine Borough Council purposes making the undermentioned rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1923, and ending on the 31st j day of March, 1924, all calculated on j the unimproved rateable value of all ' rateable property on the Borough Valuation Roll now in force in the Borough of Geraldine at a Special Meeting of the said Council to be held at the Borough Council Chambers, Talbot Street, Geraldine, at 7.30 p.im on THURSDAY, 26th July, 1923. GENERAL RATE. —An annual gene- ' ral rate Under the authority of sections 77, 78 and 79 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, of sixpence in the pound on the unimproved rateable value as aforesaid. LIGHTING RATE.—An annual lighting rate under the authority of section 88 of the Municipal Corpora- ; tions Act, 1920, of one half-penny m j the pound on the unimproved rateable value aforesaid, for the purpose of lighting the streets and public buildj kigs. MASONIC HTALL PURCHASE LOAN B.ATE-NA special rate under the authority of section 20 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, of one halfpenny in the pound on the unimproved rateable value aforesaid, to provide interest and sinking fund on a loan of £BBO, raised by the Geraldine Borough Council under the above mentioned ■WATER RATES.—Under the authority of sections 82 to 87 inclusive of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 (a) In respect of ordinary supply on all lands and dwelling-houses to which water is supplied a rate of two pence half-penny*in the pound stei'ling on the unimproved rateable value, provided that if such rate would produce less than ten shillings in respect of any such land or dweliing-house, a charge of .ten shillings shall ho made and levied; (b) on'all land and dwellinghouses to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one huni dred yards from any part of the waterworks, a rate not exceeding one half of the rates above mentioned; (c) on al! buildings other than dwelling-houses a rate not exceeding one half of the rates mentioned in paragraph (a) hereof. , The said rates shall each he for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, .1923, and ending on the 31sfc day of March, 1924, and shall become duo and payable in one sum on the Ist dav of August, 1923. at the said Council’s Office, Talbot Street, Geraldine, to Bernard Hayes, Borough Rate Collector or such other officer as the Council may appoint to receive same. The above mentioned rates are made and adjusted in accordance and to comply with the requirements of section 98 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and are subject to its provisions. The following ia a statement of the proposed expenditure, proposed General Rate and estimated Receipts on the District Fund Account for the year ending 31st March. 1924: —Proposed Expenditure £3414 17s Bd. Estimated Income: General Rate of sixpence in the pound sterling on the unimproved ' value yielding £1154: estimated income from other sources £2230 17s 8d; the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property on the Borough Valua- ! lion Roll for the year en ding 31st March. 1.924, is £49',1'40. A full statement of the proposed expenditure and estimated income for snob year is open for inspection at the office aforesaid, (luring office hours, and the Valuation Roll is open for inspection by all persons concerned.
