Both announce their intention of entering the 1924 election campaign, with separate platforms and candidates. , A convention was called with the object- of creating a single FarmerLabour Party, but the majority of the Farmers’ Labour Party refused to affiliate with the federated body. . When the latter’s control was gained by leaders favouring the recognition of the Russian Soviet’s and the policies of Moscow rule, the FarmerLabour Party decided to retain the support of the American Federation of Labour by vigorously opposing the radical tendency.
