NEW SCHEME DEFERRED. By tjable—Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 7. In the House of Representatives, Mr Bruce announced that, owing to the difficulty involved in obtaining the complete statistics for the current year on which the Commonwealth Government would base its taxation proposals, tho operation of the new scheme would bo deferred till 1924. A scheme had been agreed to under which only one collecting authority would suffice for all income tax payments, the State Governments collecting on behalf of file Commonwealth. He is conferring with Dr. Earl Page to-day before announcing his interpretation of file agreement. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. HOBART, Monday. Mr Lee, the Tasmanian Premier, returning from a visit to Mr Bruce, stated that tho situation which had arisen respecting the financial proposals of the Commonwealth was unsatisfactory.
