Mr Cosgrave, speaking at Cork, said the Government would shortly ask the Irish people to lend the nation a sufficient sum to wipe out the dishonour of the last twelve or eighteen months. He warned the nation against wild-cat schemes. It must be prepared for a small beginning. It was essential that after the elections the Government should be strong enough to enable them to advance money.
