The Hon. Benjamin Harris has tendered his resignation as a member ot the Legislative Council of New Zealand. . . . Mr Percy’ Young, of the firm of Young Bros., electrical engineers,.recently left Timaru for the United States of America, where he will stay i'or six months studying the latest methods in electrical engineering. The death is announced at Auckland of Mr Henry* Wallace Lawson, late manager of the Auckland branch of theNational Bank of New Zealand, aged 61. He was born in Sydney and educated at the Wellington College. He joined the Bank at the age of 17, at Wellington, being transferred to Auckland in 1872. He was accountant for 20 years. He was appointed manager in 1913, retiring last week on account of health. He leaves a widow and three sons.
