The fortnightly meeting of the Juvenile branch of the Loyal Timaru Lodge (.Manchester Unity), was held last night. Bro. K. Brown presided, and there was a good attendance of members. The sick report showed a clean sheet. One candidate was elected and duly initiated. For next term’s offices a full list was nominated. The election and installation will be held next Lodge night. At the Magistrate’s Court at Timaru yesterday, before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., a man named David Jonnston was charged < stealing a bed sheet, valuq 10s, th j,.erty of D. Rodgers. Fahey explained that the accused took the sheet from Mr Rodgers’s back yard. The accused, who pleaded guilty, asked for leniency, and stated that if given a chance he would immediately go into the country. His record was against him, and the Magistrate sentenced him to seven days imprisonment with hard labour.
