BOROUGH COUNCIL, The 'Waimato Borough Council mot on Tuesday evening. There were present: The Mayor (Mr W. E. Evans) and Crs. F. Nash, It. Clear, A. McLauchian, W. G. Paul, 8. d’A. >Grut, A. Lash, C. L. Gunn, T. Twomey, and D. A. Pulton. In connection with a letter received from the Timaru Borough Council con- { cerning the new general ; labourers’ ! award it was decided to reply that the Council would take no action in the matter.. Carriers’ licenses were granted to Messrs A. Cordner and P.. Saeur. Petrol storage permits were issued to i Messrs .Dalgety and Co. and the Waimate Garage ‘Company. .The N.Z. Picture Supplies -were granted liall licenses in regard to the Olympia Hail and the Arcadia Theatre. A deputation from the Waimate Rugby Sub-Union waited on the Council in reference to a complaint from the Waimate Ladies' Hockey Club that the Sub-Union was not meeting them fairly in regard to the use of the Park. The deputation pointed out that the subunion had always endeavoured to make amicable arrangements in regard to any fixtures that tlie Hockey Club had, and in every case last season the Hockey Club bad appeared perfectly satisfied.— A motion was carried granting the Ladies’ Hockey Club permission to play matches on Victoria Park at such hours as may be allotted by the executive of each club granted permission to use the Park, such executive to report to the next meeting of the Council as to the likelihood of their coming to an amicable arrangement as to hours. _ Permision was given to the Waimate Association Football Club to use the Victoria Park playing area on Saturday afternoons. , General accounts amounting to £lls 11s 4d and Gas Company accounts totalling £IQ 17s 6d were passed for payment.
