CHAMPION SINGLES. The third round of tho Champion of Champion games was played on Park Green on Saturday. Tho contest was for a valuable silver cup and a certificate. Alter a closo contest between Edwards, of Tomuka, and Cowles, of Park, T. Edwards remains tho champion Singles player for this season. Tho game was in doubt till tho last shot, when Cowles failed to alter Edwards’s .position, who lay throe shots. The following is tho order of play: — No. 1 SECTION. First Round. G. Creemor, Gcraklino, 25, v. L. Hunt, Temuka, 20. W. H. Cowles, Park, 21, v. G. Blackhorn, West End, 12. Second Round. Park 22 v. Temuka, 11. Geraldino 17 v.. West End 15. Third Round. Park 20 v. Geraldine 15. Temuko beat West End. W. 11. Cowles (Park) iwon No. 1 Section. No. 2 SECTION. First Round. Crawshaw (Kia Toa) 18 v. Dr. Ussher (Timura) 13. T. Edwards (Temuka, holders) 22 v. Mitchell (Waimate) 12. Second Round. Temuka 20 v. Kia Toa 15. Tiraaru 23 v. Waimate 6. Third Round. Temuka 17 v. Timnru 16. Kia Toa heat Waimate. T. Edwards (Temuka.) won No. 2 Section. FINAL. T. Edwards 21 v. W. H. Cowles 17. The cup and certificate were presented to tho winner by Mr R. F. Provnn, who congratulated Mr Edwards on bis win for tho second year in succession and the third year as holder of tho Singles championship. Cheers were given for tho winner and for tho loser. Mr Edwards replied, and thanked all for their congratulations.
