TEMUKA SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. ' The final rounds in connection with the singles championship of the Temuka Bowling Club were played off on Thursday afternoon. In the final of those who had only lost one game, L Hunt beat W. Carpenter, who is only a first year player and deserves great credit in reaching the final stages. The competition was played under the two life system and the final took place between W. Keys (two lives) and L. Hunt (one life). Hunt beat Keys on the last head, this making them equal with one life* In the play-off, after a sternly fought out game, Hunt again proved victorious and will represent Temuka as the Club’s singles champion in the S C championships to he played at Timaru to-day. Mr T. Edwards, the present holder, will also compete. STANSELL SHIELD. Following are Timaru Club’s teams in the Stansell Shield competition to bo played on the Timaru green to-day, starting at 1.30 p.m. sharp. Section A.
