PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH,

A meeting of the members of the Temuka Pres'oyterk.n Church Avas lield in the church yesterday afternoon to decide Avhether or not a new organ should be purchased. The attendance aves not as large us the occasion warranted, this being perhaps due to the inconvenience of the hour at Avliich the meeting was called. The Rev. C. Macdonald occupied the chair and several members of the Committee of Management were also present, as well as Mr J. Hayes, Christchurch, and Mr J. S. Turnbull, architect, Timaru. Mr Hayes gave details concerning the makes of organs, prices, etc., and Mr Turnbull gave estimates of the cost of suggested alterations to the church.

After hearing ilie chairman’s statement and opinions from other speakers, it Avas deckled, on the motion of Messrs A. Sluiav and .1. Bennett, that a new two-manual Holt organ should lie purchased.
