According in a sensational repoi't a powerful syndicate of the Scotch "Whisky trade, lias been formed to run huge cargoes of spirits to the United States. One of the chief .participants is declared to be well known as a M all Street financier. Thirty ships will be employed. The syndicate received its initial order for 100,000 cases of a value of £500,000. It is not known where such a quantity is procurable, .because good Scotch never was scarcer Ithan at present. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
