EMPLOYER’S COSTLY ACT. By Telegraph—Press Association. GREYMOUTH, February 5. Mrs Mclntyre, licensee of the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, was proceeded against by the Department of Labour at the Magistrate's Court for dismissing two waitresses, because they had joined the newly-constituted Employees’ Union. Mr Meldrum, S.M., convicted the defendant, and fined her £lO and costs.
