WAIMATE NEWS.

POLICE COURT, Charged with using threatening language .in Queen Street on Thursday, Hendry Mcarns. barman, appeared before Messrs AV. E. Evans, J.P., and N. L. Thomas, J.P., yesterday morning. Constable Berry, stated that the language and behaviour complained of had been used by Moams towards his wife and family. There were no previous convictions against him, and he was under the influence of liquor when the offence was committed. Accused admitted tho charge, and expressed his sorrow at the occurrence. He had been worried over family matters at the time, and had completely lost his head. . Afearns, after being cautioned by the Bench, was convicted and discharged.
