MR WILFORD AT LAST.
SPEECH; NO COMMENT* LIBERALS AND LABOUR. REFORMERS CRITICISED. By Telegraph— Press Association. STRATFORD, Jan. 19. A great gathering in the Town Hall presented Mr R. Masters, M.P., with a purse of sovereigns, and Mrs Masters with a valuable necklace. Messrs T. M. Wilford, H. Atmore, W. A. Yeitch, E. A. Ransom and S. G. Smith were present, and all eulogised the work of the member for Stratford. Mr Wilford, in the course of his speech, referred to the lution passed by the Reform, caucus, welcoming any equitable arrangement, and went on tv say: , j “I would like to know the meaning of the resolution. I ask the Reform Party: ‘ls that an invitation for members of the Liberal-Labour Party to join the Reform Party, and make one party, and place Mr Holland rn my place as Leader of the Opposition, and thus make Mr Holland’s party the alternative in this country?’ ” He hoped he had put the question plainly, and would make no comment. When the Reform Party’s answer to that question was submitted to members of the Liberal-Labour Party, he would make a . statement as to his party’s intentions when Parliament opened.
