SWIMMING.

OTAGO TEAM FOR TIMARU.

The following have been, selected as Otago representatives at the New Zealand swimming championships, to commence at Timaru next week: Miss M. Jepson (junior girls); Master Bruce Ford (intermediate boys, free style); H. Pollock (intermediate boys, breast stroke); G. Frye (N.Z. championship, breast stroke); H. Walker (N.Z. diving championship). The, water polo team will be selected from the following:—G. Frye, D. Watson, R. Hector, L. Johnstone, R. Paul, C. Maberly, H. Walker, W. Murray, R. Allan, S. Wilson.

Mr W. A. Jenkins lias been appointed manager of the team, and Mr Jenkins and Mr E. H. James will be Otago’s delegates at the conference.

In a trial swim Miss M. Jepson (junior representative) covered 50 yards in 34 4-ssec, or 4-ssec under the New Zealand junior record.
