T’ALAAT PASHA MURDERED

Talaat Pasha, former Grand Vizier of Turkey, was assassinated by an Armenian while walking in the street with his wife. He was living under an assumed name in a fiat near the scene of tine tragedy. Tho motive is said to be revenge for the Armenian massacres.
Talaab was walking on Wednesday when a youtlil overtook and tapped him on tho shoulder, claiming acquaintance. He then drew a revolver and shot the Pasha in the head. A second shot) was aimed at and wounded tho lady. Onlookers seized the assassin and almost lynched him before the police intervened. In broken German the murdered man said: “We aro do th foreigners. This has nothing to do with' you.” Talaat evidently feared assassination, as ho frequently changed liis address.
