BUILDING PERMITS.
■■-■' IMPORTANT TO BUILDERS. Par Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. The following statement is issued by the Board, of Trade:— Persons who iiave not completed buildings which they had in course of erection on 30th June (not then subject to permit by the Board of Trade) are reminded that permits will be required for the continuation of such works after 31st August. When new regulations were gazetted provision was made for two months' grace, from 30th June, for buildings which had hcan begun before the issue ct permits wag vested in the Board. Any person thus concerned, whose building operations will go beyond 31st August' must lodge an application for a permit on the_ ordinary form with the local authority in the same manner as for a new building Prompt action is necessary now as a safeguard against stoppage. A reminder is also given to suppliers of material for the works in question, that after 31st August all orders will 'oe subject to permit. Before they deliver timber, bricks or cement, they must receive a definite statement that 'a permit has been obtained for the use of these materials. As a precaution against misunderstanding, the Board of Trade desire to bring the position under the notice of persons whose building operations wiil become subject to permit as from Ist September.
