Ihe Government ordered that Alessrs Adamson and Costing should not be allowed to land in France, but. they were already in Paris when the instructions reached seaports. SARCASTIC' THANKS. LONDON, August 19. The Council of Action, has issued a statement to the effect that Messrs Adamson and Gosling wont to France to explain British Labour's policy and decision regarding Russia. Thcr» was no intention of dictating to French •workers or interfering in France's policy. The, Council extends thanks to the French Government for bein«mamly responsible for securino- i nitv ot action by the French Socialist Party and French Confederation of Labour. The latter has telegraphed! to the Council regretting th.pT treatment of the visiting delegates and assuring British workers of the fraternal _ collaboration of French workers against war.
