Th e Broken Hill Commission rvecomme'nds that in future all. persons seeking employment in the mi.ne.Sv should be ■medically examined, none suffering from tiib'ercu' osis ■■'.; or. . all ied diseases should be allowed to work either 'under-" ground or on the surface, and all v ork"rs should be examined. ■With thesp. precautious the v-arker's safety would be assured. .■' The Commission also examined a Tvumber.- of cases of susne'eted lead poisoning. Of 77 "■examined, it. was found that■'. about 50. per cent. were : affected: by disease, but a f.'nnn'ete investigation could not be undertaken. The investigation hookworm failed to discover a single case. . *
