The Chatham will be paid off on Julv 16th, and will be recummissionea directlv a crew is obtained voluntarily to -serve in New Zealand on the same terms as the men lent to the Australian Navy. The Chatham did splendid service in the war, including blockading Konsgshercr. The Admiralty has offered the cruiser Diamond to New Zealand for training mercantile marines. New Zealand to bear the expense of refitting. The Diamond is the substitute for the Sapphire. recently offered. The Philomel is at present refitting, and will shortly depart for New Zealand.
