FULLERS' PICTURES. Theio was an audience of goodlv dimensions at the Theatre Royal lastnight, when the usual Thursday night change was made. Apparently it. will need moie than the influenzal Lo keep picture patrons by their firesides, even 011 a cold night. The programme—a good one—was cGßipnsed of four films, and the accompanying music was delightful. The Pa the News and the Bathe Gazette are names which are .synonymous with what stands in the. front ranis oi the picture world. Au edition, of each of the<=e popular productions found a piaco on, the bill last night; and taking fhr audience, as they did, on a sightseeing trip wliich very nearly embraced the world, wore warmly appreciated. Tne there was a, beautiful scenic film entitled "Central Colorado." and it goe<= without saying that this' was followed with deep interest. The big picture wa* a Ha worth feature entitled "*A Heart .111 Pawn." This is » big story of .Japan, with |uo most gorgeous oriental «etrings, a picture which was produced in the picturesque land of cherry blossoms. In it there is a swift undercur-rr-nt of tragedy, and in the clhrnix 5= one of the most dramatic incidents eyer wicnessed on the screen. It will be remembered as one of Sessne Huvakawa's greatest pictures.
THE GRAND, The Grand was, well patronised again ' last night, notwithstanding the Health Department's , prohibition . against the admittance toi picture shows or boys and girls under sixteen years of.age. "Home AVajited" was the title of the leading picture. There are many people in .want' of a, home just now, and the title suggested that there might be a useful hint in the picture. AVh.etb.er- there : was or not, the film was followed with keen interest. The picture was produced under the direction of Tetf jonnson, from a story by Lucy Sarver, and little Madge Evans gives a charming performance as the orphan who runs away in search of a mother. She takes Spotty, a freckled youngster, with her, and believes, her beautiful mother to be in a house over the way. In this she is disappointed, but she cures an old ogre of his temper, plays Cupid to a love-sick pair, and eventually finds the..mother she lias craved for. It is a bright little picture which keeps the audience constantly interested. There is an excels lent Gaumont Graphic of a- very comprehensive nature, and an Educational Review which was specially interesting. It was all about Italy, and after giving glimpses of some of the finest sights to be seen in. Italy, its archicteotui-.il beauties, its waterways, its lemon groves, etc., the picture gives an instructive insight into the industry of artificial flower making as it is carried on there. "Good-morning, N-urss" wasa fine comedy, and a further episode of the current serial was received with expressions of marked enthusiasm. TEMTJKA PICTURES. At Teniuka- this evening "SpotlightSadie" -will'"be screened, featuring Mae Marsh. A Goldwyn story of the chorus and men with money behind the scenes will be shown, where powder and paint, silk- stockings and lace rule the Land of Make-believe.
