Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Sept. 18. A boy named Gordon Atholl- Cowley, aged 2j years, was found drowned in the harbour yesterday. It is believed that deceased was flaying near the water-front and had gone on to the beach, being overtaken by the tide. WANGANUI, Sept. 18. A serious motor accident occurred at Marangai Hill last night, a car going over a bank and somersaulting till brought up against a fence badly smashed. A young man named Hardy was found unconscious in the paddock, having evidently been thrown across the fence. He was removed to the hospital, where he lies in a critical state. NAPIER, Sept, 18. While Mr R. L. AYi 11 i;un. of the firm of Messrs Henry Williams and Sons, was driving from Napier yesterday his car got out of control, wobbled' and then appeared to turn right over, landing on the wheels again, when it commenced running down the bank backwards towards the sea. Mr Williams was severely shaken and received a nasty blow on the chest. Two other passengers who were in the car escaped without serious injury, although all suffered a great deal from shock. A cyclist named Bowman was thrown heavily to the ground and severely shaken. The cycle was badly knocked about. WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. The body of a woman found on the Makara beach yesterday has been identified as that of a single woman, Gertrude Sarah Knight, 49 years, who been roiseinic sine • Tf«* div »:ight. Deceased, who was a Wellington resident, had been in ill health for some time. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 10. Yesterday John Telfer, single, 51 years of age, living with his brother-in-law at Ota Creek, was found hanged in a shed. Deceased had been melancholy for some- days.
